FORMER WHITE HOUSE INTERNET AND E-COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR JOINS WAGGENER EDSTROM WORLDWIDE
DAVID ALMACY APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT OF DIGITAL STRATEGIES GROUP FOR NORTH AMERICA
SEATTLE and WASHINGTON, D.C. - JUNE 5, 2007 - Waggener Edstrom Worldwide (WE) welcomes David Almacy to its fast-growing Digital Strategies Group. As vice president of the agency's Digital Strategies Group in North America, Almacy will be responsible for client service and team development. Reporting to Jim Olson, head of the agency's global Digital Strategies Group, Almacy will work closely with his regional counterparts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC) to develop new digital products and services. Based in Washington, D.C., Almacy was formerly the director of Internet and E-Communications for the White House.

At the White House, Almacy served as the primary spokesperson and contact for digital influentials. He also served as the primary owner of the White House Web site (http://www.whitehouse.gov) and spearheaded the site's comprehensive redesign in March 2007.
Before joining the White House communications staff in early 2005, Almacy was a senior advisor to the deputy secretary of Education at the U.S. Department of Education, where he provided guidance on policy, communications and congressional relations. In addition, he was a consultant with an interactive media agency in Washington specializing in government and political digital strategies, and spent five years representing C-SPAN's communications and marketing efforts including traditional, online and youth-marketing programs. Almacy graduated from Widener University in Chester, Pa., with a bachelor of science degree in management.
Almacy joins a global team comprising Ged Carroll, EMEA; Monica Li, APAC; and Lynann Bradbury, Global Microsoft Account.
